Lay It Down is a lead single from R&B singer Lloyd Polite Jr. who performs under the mononym Lloyd, fourth studio album King of Hearts. The track was produced by Polow da Don and samples Patti La Belles, “Love, Need and Want You”. The single was released on iTunes on August 31, 2010. Llyod was born in New Orleans, Louisinia on January 3, 1986. He has been a resident of Atlanta, GA since the age of 2. He attended Stephenson High School. At the age of eight, Polite began doing musical theatre at Avondale Elementary, a Performing Arts school. He was discovered at the age of 10, while rehearsing for a show at school.  According to the radio interview with Lloyd, there will be three official remixes to the song. All three of the remixes was released as an EP on February 15, 2011. R&B girl group RichGirl created a remix to the song, released on their Fall in Love with RichGirl mixtape. The song was peaked at number 64 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number 7 U.S. Billboard R&B/HipHop songs.
